We love these light, fluffy, buttery dumplings on stews and soups. A nod to our French Canadian background.

  • Yields: 8-10 Dumplings

Ingredients

1 cup All-Purpose Flour Mix

¼ cup butter or butter alternative

1 egg

¼ cup milk or water

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

Directions

1In a small bowl, mix together the egg and the milk or water.

2In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt and cut in the butter with 2 knives or a pastry cutter, until the mixture is pea-sized.

3Toss in all of the liquid and mix with a fork until just blended.

4Using 2 spoons, or a small ice cream scoop, place spoonfuls of batter onto the surface of a boiling liquid (soup, stew, or maple syrup!).

5Cover and cook for 20 minutes without disturbing.

6Serve with contents of pot.

These dumplings are a take on an old family recipe and will add the finishing touch to your soups and stews. So rib-stickingly good. Each dumpling should be around 2" in size.
